Therapeutic Style
I provide individual, marital, and family counseling to anyone desiring to work toward emotional healing or attainment of life goals. In some cases hypnotherapy I may provide as an adjunct to counseling. I have worked with clients with ) depression, anxiety problems, anger problems, job stress, divorce, codependency issues, loss and grief issues, marital conflict, child behavior problems, adolescent emotional issues, destructive habits, and other stressful life events. I provide coaching for clients seeking to enhance some aspect of life without identifying any problem issue. I see clients of all ages with few restrictions as to presenting concerns and will provide referrals to those requesting services that may fall outside my practice.
Theoretical Orientation
My graduate clinical training was based on psychodynamic theory along with family systems theory. This theoretical framework remains a foundation to my current practice. I have recent training in and used other models particularly for short-term cases. In particular, I use cognitive therapy and its guiding theories as an occasional addition to the foundational model of practice. I also use mindfulness and hypnotherapy in cases where it may be helpful.
I am open to my clients' ideas about what may work best for them.
